Day 103: Shop `til Prices Drop

After a few lazy days we were finally up to hitting the shops around our hotel. Thamel, our neighbourhood, is known for being the best shopping district in Kathmandu, so we had prepared a list of things to find.

Fortunately for us, we arrived in Nepal just days before Diwali, the energetic Hindu festival. The day we decided to shop landed on the third day, which honours the goddess of wealth, so it seemed that people couldn't turn down our offers. We had so much fun bargaining with stall keepers and finding little treasures for such great deals. They included new day packs for each of us, gortex coats, new shirts, slippers and so much more! We also found a shop that is going to make a special surprise for us! There was a lot of laughing all around.

Although not much, even a new shirt and pants felt like an entire new wardrobe. We finished the day feeling energized and excited for our trek ahead, thanks to our new gear.
