The forecast for our fourth day in Kyoto showed heavy rain. We decided to skip a day-trip to Osaka and instead planned a chill family day. The Kyoto aquarium didn't quite compare to what we'd hoped to see in Osaka (theirs boasting a whale shark), but fish are one of Baby's favourite things so we figured she'd be happy with something simpler. Surprisingly, the aquarium was quite empty. That, plus the calming atmosphere they created with darkened hallways, massive sting rays swimming above, and quiet music, meant for a very relaxing visit.
We capped the day off with a big plate of pasta and enjoyed being cosy inside while we watched the distant hills disappear behind a veil of clouds.
